THE WEEK IN WEATHER

Saturday, February 23-

Friday, February 29

With the recent releases that dramatically lowered Lake Kaweah to 12 percent of its capacity, the weekend’s storminess should cause a noticeable rise in storage and the pool elevation. As of Thursday, Feb. 21, at 7 a.m., the storage was 24,176 acre feet. The mean inflow was 386 cubic feet per second (cfs), the outflow was 6 cfs, and the pool elevation was 606.24 feet.

The Kaweah River is can be a dangerous place for unsuspecting swimmers and hikers (click here for the The Kaweah River: Enjoy it at a Distance).
