Pete Denis: 1962 ~ 2018

Pete Denis of Three Rivers died peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia due to complications from congenital heart disease. He was 56.
A celebration of Pete’s life will be held Sunday afternoon, Oct. 28, at Three Rivers Hideaway.
Jean Pierre Andre “Pete” Denis was born January 15, 1962, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to Jacqueline and Jean-Paul Denis. The family emigrated to the U.S. when Pete was an infant. They settled in Southern California, where Pete attended local schools and graduated from Los Altos High School.
Pete’s entire career was in construction and he worked as a carpenter most of his adult life, beginning in Southern California. In the mid 1990s, Pete was living and working in Hawaii, where his daughter, Joee, was born. In 2003, Pete and Joee moved to Three Rivers.
Pete’s road to Three Rivers began in his youth. His stepfather, Bruce Duncan, owned property on North Fork Drive, which was in the family from the 1960s until sold in 2001.
Pete was a fun-loving man and a jokester. He was a master wood craftsman and a musician. He enjoyed motorcycles, skiing, and golf. But most of all, he loved raising his daughter, Joee, and his female dogs, Bob and Kevin.
Pete was preceded in death by his father, Jean-Paul; stepfather, Bruce Duncan; brother Claude Denis (1959-2015), and uncle Pierre Lyman.
He is survived by his daughter, Joee; mother, Jacqueline Duncan; siblings, Danny Denis of Three Rivers, Christine Denis, and Clyde Duncan; sister-in-law Mary Denis of Exeter; cousins Pete Lyman and wife Gail and Josie Lyman, all of Three Rivers; and many nieces and nephews.
