Linard Herrin: 1928 - 2013

 

Linard Odell Herrin of Three Rivers died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, in Visalia. He was 85.

Linard was born August 19, 1928, in Oklahoma. He moved with his family to California in 1937, settling in the Imperial Valley. He later moved to Salinas where he worked in the produce industry.

On December 2, 1948, he married Ermogene Umphfres in Yuma, Ariz. They settled in Salinas, which is where they raised their family.

Upon retirement in 1987, Linard and Ermogene moved to Three Rivers.

Linard was preceded in death by his son, Rory.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ermogene; two sons, Stan Herrin and Wesley Herrin, both of Salinas; two brothers, Cleatis Herrin and Parvin Herrin; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held yesterday (Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014) at Three Rivers Cemetery.
