WEATHER WATCH: FEBRUARY 14, 2014

Along the state’s highways, more than 700 Cal Trans electronic signs are lit up with the message: SERIOUS DROUGHT. HELP SAVE WATER. Up in the high country, the meager snowpack that accumulated on January 30 and February 6 was rained on up to the 8,500-foot elevation level during the tail end of the storm system that moved east on Saturday, Feb. 8. There is a moderate chance of precipitation in the forecast for Wednesday, Feb. 19, but otherwise it’s spring-like temperatures and the Winter of 2014 that never was.
