Suspect arrested in Cherokee Oaks burglary

Tulare County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded on Friday, May 9, at 2 p.m., to a report of a residential burglary in the 40700 block of Crystal Drive. According to the incident report, the resident had arrived home and interrupted the burglar who was known to the victim.

Deputies contacted Richard Northcott of Three Rivers, and he was questioned and arrested on suspicion of burglary. The suspect was booked into Tulare County Main Jail.

Northcott, 39, has been charged with intent to commit burglary of an inhabited dwelling. If convicted, he faces six years in prison. He is currently being held on $50,000 bail.

In a separate case, the expensive racing bicycles that were stolen last month from a locked storage container in Three Rivers were located at a Visalia pawnshop. The burglar allegedly pawned the bicycles for $250.

Sheriff’s deputies are on the lookout for the suspect in that case and say an arrest will be forthcoming.
