For three-quarters of a century and in the same scenic location, the Gateway Restaurant and Lodge has been a popular stop in Three Rivers. Built shortly after the Generals Highway opened in 1926, the restaurant and lodging's strategic location just outside the entrance to California's first national park was meant to lure Sequoia visitors from the road and cater to their every need, from food and drink to overnight accommodations.

Consisting of a riverside setting where the East Fork of the Kaweah meets the Middle Fork, the lodging facilities are enhanced by an onsite restaurant.
